If you watched my last podcast with Eric, you may already know about the exciting collaboration I've been working on with the amazing ladies at Nice & Knit for Vogue Knitting Live in New York later this month. I've been busy cutting, sewing and pressing in my studio for months and am happy to report that the 'City Lights' bags are finished and on their way to Nice & Knit headquarters right now.
I was delighted when Katie and Kara asked me about a collaboration with them for the show. Not only are they extremely talented yarn dyers and business women, they are also wonderful people.
I've been a huge fan of their yarn for quite some time and feel like our products align together perfectly. It was so easy to come up with bags that we both liked as our styles and tastes are so very similar. (I could probably knit every single project in my queue using their yarn). You can see a few of the projects I have made with Nice & Knit yarn here, here and here.
The City Lights small project bags are made with a light, chambray denim with colourful neon neps flecked throughout.
The City Lights large project bags are made with a slightly heavier, classic black denim.
They both have a base using a Linen/Cotton blend with a beautiful silver sparkle....perfect for the big city. I couldn't pass up the chance to use these fun silver tassels and also include a special scissors progress keeper/charm.
The bags will be available in the Nice & Knit Booth (#408) January 25-27. Please come and say hello (I will be there from 12-3pm on Saturday, January 26th) and have a look at their gorgeous yarn! Hope to see you there.
